:: An Introduction to Popular Education Based Organizing
*2-day training*
9 am to 4 pm
Cost: $350

Community organizing often does not reach its full potential of engaging people in movement-building, systemic change work, but stays directed at short-term campaigns and wins.  A popular education based approach to organizing helps constituents develop the consciousness, analytical skills, and leadership abilities necessary for deeper social change, even while short-term objectives are being met.  Come learn tools and techniques for developing a popular education based organizing approach.  The workshop will cover basic popular education theory as well as practical applications to day-to-day organizing work.

R Community Organizers and Lead Organizers
R Organizing Directors
R Supervisors and Managers of Community Organizing and Social Change Programs

:: Strategic Planning and Evaluation for Community Organizing and Social Change Work
*1-day training*
9 am to 4 pm
Cost: $200

Participants will be introduced to a strategic planning process based on the culture and institutional knowledge of the organization.  Participants will learn techniques for identifying long-term goals, then breaking them down into achievable, measurable objectives that are both qualitative and quantitative.  From this point, participants will be taught methods for moving into weekly or monthly work plans to support the objectives and move the organization towards its long term goals.

Additionally, participants will learn how to use the objectives and work plans derived in the strategic planning process to evaluate organizational and program progress and effectiveness.
